The image to the left was a picture taken in Tennessee. The photographer who took this picture named it the Dream Waterfall. This image inspired me to do a black and white charcoal drawing of Marilyn Monroe. I chose Marilyn because she is one of the most dreamiest girls I could think of. This piece of art also inspired me because of how the shading fades in a bunch of places. I really wanted to learn how i could do that my self.
This was my first step in producing my final art piece. I evaluated the waterfall and then figured out what exactly it was i was going to be drawing.
This was a photo i took right as i finished the outline of Marilyn. In the bottom right you can see the black and white picture of Marilyn Monroe that i was referencing to. You can also see that i was not drawing this on a piece of paper. I chose to mix it up a bit and do it on a big piece of ply wood.
This was the final product. Overall i was very happy with the way it turned out and it is defiantly the best piece of art i have ever done. The shading ended up taking most of my time simply because i used charcoal. I am glad to have seen the dream waterfall because with out it i would never have been inspired to do this work of art.
