The image to the left was a picture taken in Tennessee. The photographer who took this picture named it the Dream Waterfall. This image inspired me to do a black and white charcoal drawing of Marilyn Monroe. I chose Marilyn because she is one of the most dreamiest girls I could think of. This piece of art also inspired me because of how the shading fades in a bunch of places. I really wanted to learn how i could do that my self.
This was my first step in producing my final art piece. I evaluated the waterfall and then figured out what exactly it was i was going to be drawing.
This was a photo i took right as i finished the outline of Marilyn. In the bottom right you can see the black and white picture of Marilyn Monroe that i was referencing to. You can also see that i was not drawing this on a piece of paper. I chose to mix it up a bit and do it on a big piece of ply wood.
This was the final product. Overall i was very happy with the way it turned out and it is defiantly the best piece of art i have ever done. The shading ended up taking most of my time simply because i used charcoal. I am glad to have seen the dream waterfall because with out it i would never have been inspired to do this work of art.
So for this activity we are supposed to take a piece of art and destroy it. So my idea was that i was going to run over it with my car. Their actually wasn't really any symbolism but i thought it would be fun.
It didn't end up as destroyed as i wanted to but i am still happy with the results!
In this project me and couple of classmates worked together to make this poster. The poster asks the question, What is your dream? The idea behind the poster was we were going to post it up somewhere in the school and get replies from anyone who wanted to answer the question. Unfortunately some profanity was written on the poster by some immature kids and it ended up getting tore down. This upset me because my group and i spent many hours making this poster and the final product ended up in the trash.
In this project we had to create a rub goldberg machine. The problem we faced was that we couldn't think of anything. So me and my group just started throwing out random ideas and most of them didn't even work. This project was really fun because seeing the final product work was very rewarding.
The video below is my another project that i worked on that had a limitation. My
Stealing and copying are very different. When someone copies something they are taking someone else works replicating it the exact same. When an artist steals they are taking someone else work and then making it their own and using it as inspiration. In my character remix project i took a picture of Simba that already existed and then changed up the color combination.
The final project for this unit was to combine things that already exist. I decided to combine a roll of paper towels and a cup, thus making the paper towel cup. The idea behind this creation was to create a cup that can clean up its own messes. The cup consist of a roll of paper towels, plastic, and foam. The plastic and foam go inside of the roll of paper towels to keep any liquid from seeping out. Overall i had a bunch of fun doing this project.
During this project I learned many new techniques and skills. I have never painted using acrylic before so it was quiet difficult for me. The first new skill I learned was how to paint a sky, it took me several try's but i finally got it to come out just right. I also learned how to paint trees and bushes. I would have to say the hardest part about this project was painting the trees. Getting the paint to be the right color and the trees to be the right height was very difficult. Overall i had a bunch of fun with this project, in the end my painting came out great!
The color me Katie project was very fun and interesting, although it was hard to get photos of people without them purposely posing for them. We decided to go with a thought bubble full of hearts to symbolize Love. For as long as that thought bubble stayed in that spot I decided to call it the love bench. We also put our names inside some of the hearts so it would appear as if peoe we're thinking of us. Overall I had a bunch of fun doing this project!
In this pic you can see two people jumping into a lake. The one in red is my friend seth and the other one is me. We tried probably thirty times to be able to get this right. It was hard because getting the timing down and the jump height down was tougher than we thought. But when we finally got it we managed to grab this awesome pic.
